Children from Kirkriggs Primary School celebrated winning our Commonwealth Sports competition.

Pupils from Kirkriggs Primary School celebrated winning our Commonwealth Sports competition after James Wright (P3) was picked as the winner from thousands of entries.

The school has won £750 worth of sports equipment in the competition which was open to all primary schools across Glasgow.

Two secondary prizes of £200 were also presented to St Bartholomew’s and St Francis of Assisi after Antonia Charles (P7) and Lewis Anderson (P7) were picked as runners up.

Our Commonwealth Sports competition launched in May and children identified a variety of Commonwealth sports which were represented as silhouettes on entry forms.

Julia McCreadie, head of facilities management, said: “Congratulations to the children who were awarded prizes. The vouchers will allow their school to buy some top quality sports equipment, which will be great for pupils.

“Nutrition and healthy eating are a top priority for Cordia, but an active lifestyle is essential for all-round wellbeing.”
