Anne Marie Sawers, Ann Marie Goodbrand, Ann Band, Susan Graham, and Maureen Brough were all awarded the accolade for dedication to their jobs.
Maureen Brough was recently nominated for a Police Community Award when, after leaving a client’s home, she assisted two police officers who were in difficulty.
Anne Marie Sawers and Ann Marie Goodbrand were recommended for the award by social work services and a service user for providing a high level of emotional and practical support.
A representative from social work contacted area manager Rhona Paterson to commend the workers’ professionalism and dedication to a family.
Ann Band and Susan Graham, both homeless support workers, recently visited a client and, upon entering the home, realised it was extremely unsafe. At great personal risk to themselves, they safely removed the client from the home and then contacted the police and fire brigade.
All five of these woman are worthy recipients of the Heart of Gold award, and are a credit to Cordia.
We would like to congratulate them and, most of all, say a huge thank you!
