HEAD OF COMMERCIAL STRATEGY
David has a dual role as head of Encore Hospitality Services and heading up Cordia’s commercial strategy.
In Encore, David ensures that civic catering; public catering in Glasgow museums and sport centres as well as substantial corporate event catering throughout the city are run to the highest standard. Major clients include Glasgow City Council and Culture and Sport Glasgow. Encore is a major supplier in the post-school education sector and customers include Glasgow Caledonian University and Glasgow Metropolitan College.
In his role as head of commercial strategy, David has a key part to play in the development of all commercial contracts that Cordia is involved in and is tasked with seeking out business opportunities that offer growth to the organisation’s portfolio in the areas of facilities management services; major event management; mobile ICT software applications and the provision of training services to a wide range of sectors. David also plays a pivotal role in helping the business develop a more focused commercial culture.
David and his team are also responsible for developing the public and corporate hospitality concepts within venues such as The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, Bellahouston Sports Centre, Tramway Cafe Bar and The Herald Cafe housed within the Mitchell Library.
David holds an MBA and a PhD. David's research area focused on organisational change and in particular the role of corporate management culture in the change process. David is also a registered presenter for the Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland for the advance diploma in Food Safety in relation to temperature control and the safe storage of food materials. David also leads "The Cordia Way", the organisation's change programme.
