HOME CARE
We provide a range of home care services on behalf of Glasgow City Council’s Social Work Services. Over 8,600 Glaswegians receive support from our home care staff on a daily or weekly basis. We also manage the community alarm service and over 13,000 Glaswegians receive this service. We also provide services to homeless people living in supported accommodation.
If you need help and support at home you need to contact your local Glasgow City Council Social Work Services office to request an assessment of your needs. You can contact the team directly or someone can contact them on your behalf such as a relative, a friend or your doctor. Staff from Social Work Services will advise you of the criteria for care at home services and any cost implications (certain services may be subject to a charge based on your income).
Hospital in-patients, prior to their return home, can request an assessment by speaking to a member of the ward staff who will contact Social Work Services.
Once you are assessed, you may have one or more of the following services provided to you by our home care staff:
This is the standard home care service.
This service provides care for you when you leave hospital.
This is the early evening service provided to you between 4pm and 10pm.
This service provides help to you between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
Work includes fitting door and window locks, security chains, peep holes, curtain rails/poles, shelves, tap washers, the changing of light bulbs, etc.
Our rapid response service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
