CORDIA STAFF RECOGNITION AND EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2011

It’s time to congratulate our staff and recognise and celebrate those individuals and teams that go above and beyond what is expected of them in terms of performance, attitude and effort.

Nominations will enable Cordia to recognise either an individual or team, who have shown excellence in the way they have undertaken their duties.

The nominations do not need to be large scale or technical. However, it is important to explain and describe what the individual or team has done to deserve an award, why it made a difference and where possible how it has linked to Cordia values.

The following frequently asked questions and information is contained within this document: (clicking on the headings below will take you directly to the section)

The Staff Recognition and Excellence Awards are a way of publicly recognising and rewarding staff for exceptional performance in conjunction with Cordia values:

We respect the opinion of others
We value relationships
We are passionate and confident
We are eager to learn and improve
We are open, flexible and embrace change
We encourage innovation

Not everyone will win an award, but each year these Awards also enable Cordia to thank hundreds of nominated staff for making a particular contribution in providing excellent services.

A nomination can be made by any of the following:

  • Manager
  • Employee
  • Customer/Client
  • Elected Member
  • Partner Organisation
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A NOMINATION?

Anyone who is employed by Cordia can be nominated. Individual members of staff or whole teams are eligible to receive nominations.

Your nomination will allow them to know that you appreciated their efforts and will encourage them and hopefully others to achieve high standards of work every day.

A nomination can be made by completing an online nomination form at www.cordia.co.uk/staffrecognition.aspx. Alternatively, you can collect a form from any Cordia location and return it using the freepost address by Friday 4 November 2011.

It is important that all information about the individual or team you are nominating is completed to ensure that the correct people are identified.

All nominators will remain anonymous.

By entering your details, this will allow us to tell you that your nomination has been received and registered.

There will be 3 award categories for nomination and only 1 category must be selected per nomination. Nominations are categorised as follows:

Employee of the year
This award is for someone who is dedicated to their work, who consistently does more than their job demands and who shows initiative that benefits their team or their customers.

Team of the year
This award is for a team who works together in a way that shows them going the “extra mile” by providing an outstanding service to customers.

Outstanding Leadership Award

This award is for someone who is a real leader and who inspires and motivates their team to perform to their best abilities all of the time.

The winner of this award will be chosen by the Managing Director from the overall Service winners, and our judging panel may also pass any nominations which they feel meets the criteria for one of these award categories.

  • Managing Director’s Recognition and Excellence Award
This prestigious award recognises an individual or team who has truly excelled in their role and has made a significant contribution to Cordia through their outstanding performance, commitment and dedication.

In addition, their flexibility, co-operation and positive attitude ensures that they exceed customer expectations, by continually displaying exceptional performance in conjunction with the Cordia values.

The nominated individual or team will be notified in writing and advised that they have been nominated.

Managers will be notified that an individual or team from their area of the business has been nominated and their support will be vital to assist with the nomination process.

A judging panel will review and examine all nominations received and will identify a shortlist of nominations for each category.

The Judging Panel has yet to be decided, however, will be made up of a cross section of Cordia Executive Management, Heads of Service and External Partners.

The Judging Panel will use the criteria as described in the 'Award Categories' section in conjunction with the Cordia values to judge and select the award winners.

It is anticipated that 16 Awards will be given out at the Awards Ceremony.

Both the runners-up and winners from each category will receive a certificate. The winners will receive a trophy and a meal at one of our Encore locations.

The nomination and judging process will be fair for all. Nominees will be judged on the criteria as explained above. The Judging Panel is instructed to choose a recipient based on the nomination and not on any personal relationships or knowledge of the nominated individual. They are also asked to identify and disclose any potential areas where they believe there may be a conflict of interest.
