Home carers bring festive cheer to Glasgow shoppers

Christmas carol singing on Buchanan Street helps raise money for charity.
A troupe of our home carers treated shoppers to a special Christmas carol performance on the steps of the Royal Concert Hall on a Monday afternoon this month.

Around 80 home carers and support staff decked in fancy dress, sang popular Christmas carols for bargain-hunters in front of the iconic Glasgow landmark, as part of a fundraising campaign which will benefit a number of different charities.

Crohns and Colitis UK, Alzheimer Scotland, Callum’s Cabin and Breast Cancer Care are all to receive a share of donations collected from members of the public during the carol renditions, plus a number of other charity initiatives which took place including raffles and dressing up days.

Speaking about the fundraising drive, Frances McMeeking, head of care services, said: “It is fantastic that our home-care team is carrying out all this great work for such worthwhile and important organisations.

“The choir have been practising for a few months and it is wonderful to finally see them perform in public.”
