Cordia staff celebrate a total of 3300 years of service

Our 2014 Long Service Awards were held in the Glasgow City Chambers Banqueting Hall on Thursday, September 4.
Hosted by our managing director, David Melvin, and attended by Cordia’s Chair, Bailie Mohammed Razaq, as well as Glasgow’s Lord Provost Sadie Docherty, the event was a great success with almost 300 attendees.

132 members of Cordia staff were honoured on the day for their 25 years of service to the organisation, equalling an impressive 3300 years when combined!

Each recipient was awarded with a Long Service medal, a certificate and were treated to a three-course meal on the afternoon.

Winners came from all areas of Cordia including facilities management, care services, management and support, and Encore Hospitality Services.

Attendees were invited to bring a friend or family member to the event with them and the lunch was provided by their colleagues at Encore.

A fun and interesting presentation was screened during the lunch which highlighted the news, music, movies and events from 1989; the year they started in the organisation.

Also shown was a short video highlighting Cordia’s involvement in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games which featured many of the staff who were also receiving their award.

The event was made extra special by David Melvin receiving his Long Service Award, making him the first managing director to do so.

As always, everyone in attendance had a great time and we would like to congratulate all of our Long Service Award recipients.
