Cordia wins gold at CIS Awards

Cordia's Jobs 2014 Recruitment team wins top prize.
Congratulations to our Jobs 2014 recruitment team who have picked up the Training and Employment Retention Award at the annual CIS Awards in Glasgow.

This award, presented by Kaye Adams, recognises the successful operation to recruit and train 700 staff members to deliver hospitality across eight venues at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The team developed partnerships with organisations such as Springboard Scotland, Glasgow City Council and City of Glasgow College to meet the required staff numbers while also training and engaging with staff in the run up to the Games.

All staff had to complete training sessions to ensure they were competent in delivering high quality services to the citizens of Glasgow and its visitors.

Lynn Norwood, head of people development, said: “We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication shown by our Jobs 2014 recruitment team and stream leaders, who worked together to deliver a hugely successful Commonwealth Games.

“The success of the team was founded in the strength of the recruitment, retention and training strategy that was developed for the games and the tremendous support given by everyone in Cordia that worked so hard to deliver the most successful Commonwealth Games ever.

“Our staff were at the forefront of the Games and we have been recognised for our excellent work by our industry peers.”

Cordia have also been named finalists in the APSE Awards and the Inspiring City Awards for the services carried out during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
