Cookfreeze gets Eat Safe Award

The Eat Safe award was presented by Loran Reid (c) to Liz Duncan and Linda Thomson.
Our Cookfreeze kitchen has been awarded the Eat Safe award by Food Standards Agency Scotland.
The Eat Safe Award is run in partnership with Scotland’s councils and the Food Standards Agency, and assures that food is prepared in conditions that are above those currently required by legislation.
Cookfreeze is one of Scotland’s largest industrial kitchens and employs 35 staff members. For more than 40 years it has provided thousands of both frozen and ready-to-eat meals to schools, care homes and home care clients. Cookfreeze also produces frozen meals for Cordia kitchen and over 7000 individual pieces of home baking each day.
Lorna Reid from Environmental Health presented the award to Cookfreeze manager Linda Thomson and her team.
Lorna said: “Cordia’s Cookfreeze should be extremely proud of their achievement in gaining the Eat Safe Award. This recognises the commitment of the business and hard work of the staff to ensure safe food production at a standard exceeding legal requirements.”
The Eat Safe award is not only about food production but includes the entire facility in which food is produced including toilets, food storage units and staff rooms. For more information, visit East Safe
Congratulations to Linda and the Cookfreeze team!
