Glasgow partnership bags bronze medal for Commonwealth Games initiative

Commonwealth Games training initiative recognised at The Learning Awards 2015.
Cordia, in partnership with Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life, have fought off stiff competition to pick up a bronze award at the prestigious Learning and Performance Institute Awards 2015.
The accolade recognised our Glasgow Welcomes training for over 3000 staff at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and was awarded in the ‘People Development Programme of the Year’ category, which included international brands McDonald’s, Tesco Bank and Barclaycard.
The Glasgow Welcomes programme ensured teams were able to deliver excellent customer service to visitors during the busiest summer in Glasgow’s history. The programme was delivered across the three organisations through a mix of face to face workshops and the Glasgow Welcomes online module.
Training, health and food safety manager Wendy Stewart, who led Cordia’s side of the partnership, said: “The Glasgow Welcomes programme was just right for the staff working for us during the Commonwealth Games.
“Operating within eight of the venues during Games time allowed our staff to create a happy, fun, vibrant and customer focused service to all the visitors, athletes, officials, volunteers and media throughout.”
