Action on stroke month

Staff come together to support action on stroke month
Cordia staff joined together on Friday 19 May 2017 to help ‘Make May Purple’ as part of the action on stroke month.
Staff across all services had been encouraged to wear something purple for the day along with events going on such as raffles, selling cakes and a purple themed quiz.
In total we raised just under £1,000 for Stroke Association, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to conquering stroke.
In the UK, someone has a stroke every five minutes. A stroke is a disruption in the blood supply to the brain. Most strokes are caused by a blockage, usually a blood clot, cutting off the blood supply to the brain, known as ischaemic strokes. However, some strokes can also be caused by bleeding in and around the brain and these are called haemorrhagic strokes.

Thank you to all who got involved on the day.
